With my last camera I uploaded every 1000th picture and I have decided to do the same with my new one. This was taken from the top of Eldon Square where there is a car park. I have known about it for decades but never realised it overlooked Old Eldon Square until recently, and have never got round to taking a few pictures.
Below are some more pictures I took from the roof while I was waiting for some spare office keys to be cut. Also a picture of the new library that is nearing completion.
I decided that my Vox blog was looking a little dark for the sunner so Idecided to go with an old look for a while ago.
This is really not important in comparison with the rest of things happening in the world, but I could not let the passing of my little old car go without some kind of note. This Metro was owned by my grandfather before me and other than a large number of dents was in really good shape.
Sadly after 15 years of motoring the MOT test actually broke the breaks, and the emissions were a little high, and the drivers screen wiper needed replacing. Apart form all that it was still good to go (just not to stop).
It has not had the easiest of times over the last 15 years. This last year has been a real strain on the both of us with that brutal attack on the bonnet, and the attempted theft, and attempted arson, and the letting down of it's tyres, twice, and the puncture, twice, in the same wheel.
It does get worse. The car has been broken in to three times in total that I can prove, and possibly more times that I can not, and actually driven away on one occasion, only be be driven a mile and returned in a neighbouring street.
All in all it was a great little car with good fuel economy that got we around Tyneside and on some occasions around the country. It has changed my life and the lives of those around me just be being a car. I will miss it.
